To make it worse....It was snowing and crappy out. I got out the old windex and rags and cleaned the door off on my truck in anticipation of my new signs arriving any minute. Yes, part of the reason for purchasing the truck was because it was aluminum. Not like I didn't know it.

Oh, but be sure to use aluminium so you don't have a problem with dissimilar metals. ;)
Galvanic corrosion is a real deal, good forward thinking. :)
But if you've ever tried to drill out a cherry rivet before, it can be really really hard. Therefore I recommend drywall screws... :)
