I have a bunch of pictures but they are of more fabric on
grade and the same spot with gravel. If someone wants
to see these I'll post em.

This final picture is the finished drive from the right hand
turn looking up to the turning circle. The house will be at the
upper end of the circle. I ran out of film so I don't have a
good picture of the circle. I'll have to take one.

Hope this helps someone,
Dan

Hey Dan, let us know how it holds up during and after construction. I'd like to know how well it holds up to concrete trucks. They seem to tear up anything they drive on !!!

Gobbler,

Our drive has been in for a few months now, and we haven't had any problems with trucks either cement or the dumpster guys. The only truck was the stone slinger that crushed the culver (not sure how he missed it) so they have to jack it open or repair/replace it before they finish the job. We have a good 12-18" base of ABC down and will top with nice limestone. We put down the fabric too, but part of our upper drive doesn't have it as someone decided they wanted it more and stole the new roll off the site. Not to worry as the ground has about 24" of stone now.

Did you use Marifi 500x or typar fabric? I am putting in a 420' driveway and I bought a roll of Marifi 500x. Just wondering what you are using.

pemad,

I don't know the brand for certain, I never saw a piece of
paper that had the name but the supplier said it was from
Amocco(sp?). Amocco, the big oil company. Their website
was the only manufactuer that had any information at all
about the product.

The one thing I did pick up is that nonwoven is better for
if there are rocks and sticks around since it is harder to rip.
Since I had lots of rocks, sticks and roots, I got nonwoven.

Later,
Dan
