I cracked my valve cover...

Hello All,

I'm new to tractors. I bought a kioti lk3054 with a head gasket problem. HG had been replaced but tractor still ran like garbage and bubbled radiator. I tore the head off and they head used the wrong gasket. I put the right one on and put it back together using the LK30 manual i got from this forum. Everything was great and running great until i decided to follow the manual and retorque the gasket. I retorqued and was putting everything back together and decided i better torque the valve cover to be precise. I ignored my gut and heard a faint tink... took the cover off again and 2 out of 3 bolt holes have a faint 3 spider crack...
I put it back together and just snugged the bolts. I ran it up to normal temp and there's no oil coming out of bottom of cover or anywhere else for that matter. I'd still like to replace it. Does anyone have one?

I might have one. We need to verify it is the same. I have the original engine from my 2554 that slung a rod. The head is fine but not sure the difference between the two engines. Maybe we could check part numbers. I will check it out.

What version 3054 do you have?

The part number for the one I have is E5500-14505. It is the old style.

I believe you might be in luck. Can you read the plate on your engine? Is it a TD1300 or TD1400?

Also mine is pre law suit, so it is blue in color if that matters to you.

Yes sir that's the one, and i don't know where said plate is on the engine, I've hunted it over and only found an embossed 1395cc.

Manage to find some time this afternoon to get your valve cover off. I will get it boxed up tomorrow and shipped. I will PM you the tracking number tomorrow night.

I wiped it off, but you will need to clean and paint if you so desire. :drink:

Thanks guys for the kind remarks and Radiation you are more than welcome. I hate to throw things away until all useful parts are used. My wife wishes I did not have this problem but I like my junk. This helps me prove to her the value of keeping things. I have had many opportunities to help folks that needed stuff and got myself out of a few jams... 73

Posts like this one clearly demonstrate the moral character of tractor people. Same sort of thing I experienced at the track as a kid racing motocross. Parts and know how where continually passed from one team / family to another.

Glad it made it in one piece. I tend to go overboard with packing. Also have had less damage from USPS than UPS and FEDEX. Not sure how those guys can beat a package up so bad. :thumbsup:
