To Rivco, BobRip, and probably many others.
I would like to thank you for the effort, and interest all of you have shown in the identification of the P T designated Variable Volume Pump, which I have on my 2004 PT 422 serial #17520.
There are other units on my P T, as there are on yours wthout any means of identification, making it difficult to perform any serious repairs, or replacement without having to use Power trac.
However there are units on my P T, again as there are on yours, with a manufacturers ID label (usually Metal) giving us all the information required to perform repair, or replacement, possibly at competitive prices.
I can think of only one compound reason for these irregularities in business procedure. " They " are not a public Company, it is almost impossible to find any information about them. Your thousands of complaints, questions, etc., are never answered in a written form, which in effect leaves " Them " free of any legalities. ( That's why Terry is one of their greatest assets ) The fact that the only units with an ID, have on the label " Made in the USA " which almost indicates that the others, including possibly the origin of the Sheet Steel come from places outside the USA.
I think it would be safe to say that P T's are NOT " Made In The USA "
but are assembled, or put together, in the USA from domestic and imported materials.
Again thank all of you for your efforts in attempting to find this critical information. Some of you have already done this in the past, for which I have also been thankful on occasions where I needed help. Your tenacity reminds me when as a mechanic in a Phila dealership, if a difficult situation would arise, we would be anxiously waiting for the company rep, not for the company fix, but for the information he would bring from the mechanics way out in the PA boondocks, miles from civilization almost, they were like
yourselves, great guys
God bless the serious D I Y's.
