We have a really nice local fireworks show here at my house just right across the farm. The owner of the small local airport and tenant of our farm has a great fireworks show every July 4th. Lasts about 45 minutes or so. Also have skydivers with the American Flag jump before the show. Great for me. I own the farm across from the show where they set them off. Lot of folk pull their cars in to watch. Big event for our area. He has a nice fly in in the fall.

Friendly advice: if you want to convince Americans not to use fireworks over the 4th of July, don’t use an awesome video of fireworks blowing up a watermelon to make your point.

I predict that on July 5, 2018, there will be a Watermelon shortage in Los Angeles and a record number of unexplained seed-related injuries!!

I bet that public service announcement did more for watermelon and fireworks sales than anything you could imagine.

My old dog, rest his sole, would be like you and HAVE to find what i shot, and if he couldn't find what you shot, he would go find something else for you to shoot which could be up to a half mile away. And he would lay under the tree waiting on your to come shot what ever he had treed. And it didn't matter if it took you 30 minutes to come find him or 6 hours.

My previous dog also came to gunshots, plus she was a Houdini. One day during deer season I stayed out much longer than I had planned, hunting until dark and when I came home she had slipped her chain and was nowhere to be found. After looking for several hours, knocking on doors and even calling the radio station I took my .357 and drove down the woods road in back of my house firing shots in an attempt to find her.
I finally found her at the apartment building across from my driveway; she had gone up to the second floor outside balcony but couldn't get back down. (She never liked going down stairs, or doing anything unless she was SURE that she would be OK.)

The next day I was at the local general store, and the owner was saying that the game wardens had been out the night before trying to find out who was shooting.

I like to hear about a demo jump going well. I've been jumping for 35 years and it is rare when that interest and tractors mix. I will post on a skydiving forum that you guys liked the demo and I am sure I will hear from at least one of the jumpers. Good reviews are always appreciated!

I don't like fireworks, either. But, it gives kids something to do. It seems the people that can't afford a pot to piss in can afford to spend a boat load of money on fireworks. And booze, cigarettes, and drugs.
