I'm with you on the skylights...from the outside when I look at the roof I would rather they not be there...BUT...from the inside looking at the light they let in, I am really glad they are there! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Yes it is bamboo. We planted it from a pot someone gave us years ago...the largest diameter is probably about 1.5 inches...

We don't really thin it...but we do Limit its expansion somewhat by either mowing over the shoots, or picking them and eating them. The eating thing started a few years ago...each year we probably pick a couple hundred shoots...maybe a bit more.

Bamboo is evergreen, so it looks nice with the snow...

I must admit that once I got the roof on, I kept seeing things outside to do... /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Actually I'm out there right now...well, was until the wife called me to eat lunch...doing some odds and ends, trying to close it in for winter... /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

I'll have to post some pictures...will try to do that soon. Got the electric and a water line run down there...some of the old siding up above the door openings to make it look like its been there a while...and so on.

And back working on my shed too!

Got side tracked by various enjoyable things...most tractor related...

As soon as the shingles were on...I talked to some truck drivers and they dropped 10 loads of fill in my driveway and 2 loads of ground up pavement... I think this was the second load...the little tractor worked without complaint... /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Our parking area is nicely enlarged now...

Last two loads were ground up road surface...perfect for surfacing the driveway and parking area.

This was stuff they were going to dump somewhere anyway, so they were happy to dump it in my driveway for $10 per load...good for me and good for them... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

It don't look like much, but it is a GREAT improvement over what was there before this little side project started.
