That looks like a perfect place for a pond. I think when the grass is grown it will look like the pond was always there and you planted the trees around it.

Shane

Shane,
Thanks. I am getting excited just waiting for rain to fill it. Of course it may need berms to divert more water into it, but for now it is wait for spring and the green to return.

Awesome job. Very impressive how you start a project and bust it out to get it done!!!!! That tractor of yours did a good job too.

No rain yesterday. But another thunderstorm came in last night with a little rain. About enough to keep the dust in the driveway down. It was enough to raise the water level another inch and leave the majority of the rye grass seed in place.

From the information in your last two posts, it doesn't appear that you will be sending any rain up my way.:(
Thanks for offering to do it.

VERY NICE JOB!!

Glad you got the pond done and your rye planted before the rain.

That is some nice top soil, hope you can get some rain to help fill

it up. When it does rain your pond water will probably be muddy from

the clay dirt. But when it fills up it will flush out the muddy water.

Was glad to hear that you had a creek close by, the creek will be

handy if you need to pump water to the pond.

Post some pics when it fills up with water.

Thanks for sharing your project.

Weldingisfun,
Nope.:p I am gonna be hoarding it.:D The pond level rose 1/4 inch last night:cool:. No rain anywhere in the forecast until this weekend. I understand most of southeast Texas is under a fire ban and most of central Texas is in a draught.

Thanks Bill.:) Most all my property was in heavy woods when I bought it, so the top soil is extra black and rich.

Brandi,
You kicked that pond's butt!
We are all looking for more pictures if you have them. If not, take some more. I would like to see the water rise.

Rob,
Coming from someone that knows hard work..............Thanks!!!
I will have to take more photos of the yardstick. I am not believing my yard stick I stuck in the pond mud. The water level came up another inch since yesterday morning. It has risen 7 inches since Tues, the 27th of January. That is with us behind in rain and only getting 9 hundredths of an inch since then. I am convinced I have a spring feeding it. I just checked on the wet weather springs just uphill from my barn and the ground is damp, almost wet where they are.
