What did you do TO your RAM today?

Changed the fuel filters today, second fuel filter change but first time doing it myself. At 68 with a bad back I had it done last time but with what they charge now I ordered from DieselFiltersOnline tackled it. Way easier than i thought it would be, took me about 1 hour 15 minutes.

Will you have them balanced with the crimp on lead weights or are you doing some kind of beads or other system. Please let us know how well they balance and drive. Im not sure Im going to keep my 5500, but Id like to know some better tires for future.

Great question. I will ask my tire shop if they’re using clip weights or equal.
The one bad thing about the 4500/5500 trucks is they get stuck pretty easy.

They do look similar to the tires on my M936, but I couldn't tell you if those are noisy or not.

The vehicle itself easily drowns out such minute sound waves.

Mounted today.

Drove about 20 miles at various speeds. At 60MPH, there was considerably LESS noise than the Goodyears. Pretty surprising considering the gain in traction. The noise is like a soft hum, where the Goodyears were like a fairly pronounced buzz. These will get noisier as they wear down, but right now I’d say the noise factor is a 2 out of 10.

The front end doesn’t vibrate at all. I don’t know if that’s more because the tire was well engineered or the Ram has real effective steering dampening. They look like a skinny mudder.

I already hooked up the gooseneck and moved it in a soft field in 2WD. Would have probably needed 4WD with previous tires.

I’m happy and relieved this experiment turned out positive. Still time/place for drama. Going to experiment with tire pressures. 95 in rears and 90 in fronts now.

Trelleborg 404 under slurry tanks and silage trailers were incredibly noisy. You could hear every individual lug touch the street when they were speeding up to 35mph with modified tractors in 1993... you could hear them drumming in the distance, over the engine noise...

500 mile report.
No unusual noise, humming or bad vibes.
No noticeable decrease in fuel economy.

Only 500 miles, but very pleased so far.
