How you thought about filling it with something other than water? Perhaps sand is heavier than water and just as easy to fill.

Haven't thunk of it, other than it's more costly than water. I haven't made a move yet on this due to having to plow and disc first. I'll probably do water so it'll be cheap and easy to drain and move.

Could add cacl.. ( lotsa extra weight.. but would eat metal ).. beet juice.. antifreeze.. heck.. even bulk sugar would add considerable weight.. and not attack the metal.. etc.

I can't imagine filling the roller with sand or such to be very expensive. You have the option of using water and if it bumps about change that to something heavier but I might suggest drying out the inside before using something like sand.
