Purchased a 1999 L3010. Planned to install new tires R4's front and rear (4x). I have called everyone I know to call and the verdict is there is no way, unless I buy new rims. Total price is somewhere around $1,200. So I give up. I do not plan to spend that much to get R4's or any other type of turf tire. Anyone have any suggestions? Maybe used rims or tires and rims? /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Advertise a straight swap (unless you want to keep the ags.) I'm sure there is someone out there who wishes they had purchased the more aggressive tires.

Talk to you dealer - when I was shopping, I found a used unit with turfs. I wanted R4s and he knew someone he had sold to who wanted turfs. He did all the legwork and set up the swap. I didnt get it, but it shows it can be done.

I have seen used tires and rims for sale on ebay - keep checking there. You can establish search criteria and have automatic notifications sent to you when a match gets listed.

Use the classified here and on other tractor sites - tractorpoint.com, ytmag.com, today's tractor, etc.

Hang in there.....

triplets,

You might go find a dealer that would be willing to work a swap. If the dealer is selling a machine with the tires you have, get them to order the new one with the ones you want. Of course, you would need to pay any difference in cost, plus maybe a little extra for the effort, and if yours are worn much. I just sold my BX2200 that had bar tires. The person that bought it wanted turf, so I ordered my BX22 with turfs and swapped them out.

I had/have turfs on my B8200. I had wanted R4's for a long time. Problem is the tires are not cheap to begin with. Then, the turf tire rim is too wide for the R1 or R4 tire. Heck of a deal, Huh!

Finally, I had a flat on a rear turf. The tire was original from what I could see, making it 15+ years old. The sidewall was worn and weathered enough, the tire places would not repair it. So.... Ii got new back tires. They ratio match ok with the fronts. I got new r4's on new rims. $700 for two back tires on rims!

The thing is working ok with R4 rear, turf front; not optimum, but pretty good.

The fronts are pretty new; they have a while before they get replace. Fortunately, the fronts are less expensive!

Start advertising here and on the other tractor forums for a swap. Put a note up at you dealer for a tire swap.
