Congratulations on your new tractor. Have many safe and happy hours in the seat. With that grapple out front it looks like a killer  :D of a tractor. Thanks for posting pics. :)

Mousefield,

I'm calling the grapple "the claw" (from Toy Story) to my daughters...
They think I'm funny...

I'm with you, I think the grapple makes it look MEAN. When it is wide open it is HUGE!

:D

Kyle,

There are a couple of action shots, but they are not good enough yet, I'm not experienced (and I have not made it deep enough into the clearcut to reach the BIG piles of debris. Wait till I get one of thoise shots with a couple thousand pounds in the grapple... [insert Tim the Tool Man grunt sound]

Heh heh heh...

gkh7890,

I have the same problem, the "barn" door is too small for the tractor so my solution is I'm taking the roller door out, and making the opening bigger!

The stump grinder has not arrived. maybe by Friday. I hope so, because there are these Pawlonia stumps that sucker worse than a weed and I can't wait to KILL THEM!

Thanks for the encouraging words!
Be well,

David

Boone,

Funny you say that! I have started raising Guinea Fowl and the day I got the first batch I had no place to put them so I put them in the big metal shed (I call it the barn) which was basically empty and unused. Well NOW I'm gogin to move them to what seems to have been a woodshed in a prior life so i can park the tractor in the "barn".

So YES! The Birds will be moving because a Kioti is invading their roost!
They just don't know it yet!

Too Funny!

Boone

I rode my Harley into Chantilly today for work. Not quite the belly of the beast, but close... It was a decent ride today, very nice weather.

I hear tell guineas will eat the little snakes and that keeps the big ones away too. Maybe I should bring them into work with me... Hmmm...

DC is what pays the tractor payment & mortgage, but I did NOT want to live up there.

Be well & God Bless.

I am impressed you did hay! I was tolde at least a 60 PH tractor (typically a gear one) was required for doing hay!

Awesome!

Thanks for the note!

Yep! I sickle mowed about 18 acres lol. Raked with n old john deere rake. N on the 9 acres of the neighbors I pulled his old new holland baler. Was my 1st experience I believe my tractor did great I could feel the plunger strokes but I guess thats normal using a smaller tractor. Years ago all the smaller farmers use to usr rite around 45hp from wat sum hav told me n even pull a wagon. I wasnt pullin wagon just lettin bales drop on ground. Had a lot of fun bit got a lot of learnin to do

How did you hook up the sickle mower? I am curious about getting one of those. (Got pix?).

I would say "Welcome to the Pack" but you've had your DK50 longer than I have. :D

I find it a bit curious that MOST DK guys choose the 45 (no real data, just what I see here on TBN) and to me the 50 was the ONLY way to go!

Nice to see another DK50 guy.

Did you go HST? Cab? What attachments have you got/used?

Have a great day!
Be well,
David

PS - I hope you took pix of you pullingthe baler with your Kioti! Those would be popular here!

Hah! Of course those of us who have DK40s cannot figure out why the rest of you feel compelled to throw money at Kioti for using larger pistons. The tractors are identical except for your $2000+ pistons.

Newbies who fall prey to horsepower hype are spending money they could otherwise save or spend on implements. Think about it. An extra specialized implement is almost always a more efficient way to get work done than simply adding a handful of extra horsepower. Dealers and Kioti are the only ones who really benefit.

Don't want to rain on your parade and certainly hope you enjoy your DK but I couldn't let your comment go unchallenged.

Great deal. I'd go for that too. My point was not to bash the 50 but just to point out that few tasks really need the extra seven or eight HP and it is therefore not such a good bang for the buck for the vast majority of owners. I just wanted to warn against the all too typical "more HP is better" syndrome.
