God I love this state. This must have higher prices by the hour. Everytime I go by a station on the way back the prices go up.

This am prices I posted above are again too low. Up another $0.06. That is almsst 20 cents in 3 days....

Diesel is lower than gasoline again around here...
Diesel is $2.519 and regular unleaded is $2.699.

Time to trade the Cavalier in for a Schwinn! I think Junkman has one for sale...

This morning on the way to work gas was $2.69, on the way home this evening the same station had $2.84! .15 in one day?

My wife drives an Excursion with the Power Stroke, I took it the other night to pick up a pizza for the kids, she asked me to fill it up for her. (At this point I knew it was a set up) I had $150.00 Cash in my pocket, came home with $29.00. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

( There was a big dip in gasoline prices in the late 1990's. I remember paying $0.679 for regular unleaded in the summer of 1998 or 1999 before they started creeping back up. )

And during the same period bottled water by the gallon was over $1.00 a gallon.

good point. I paid 1.10 for 16 oz of bottled water today. ppl complain about the price of fuel but will easily pay for water, coffee, etc. maybe the govt has us brainwashed?

VA, the base-line wood furnace which will heat up to 3000 sq/ft, multiple dwelling/living spaces goes for about 4k. figure a new oil fired furnace is going to cost about 5-6k... let me know if you want more info, I can send you the name of the distributor for heatmor...

And, btw folks, saw the most expensive fuel in my area today 2.99 unleaded.

I say that all gass cost over 3.00 by holiday time. anyone want to make a bet? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I think it's time that the whole population just stays home and says screw the oil companies. Let's have a National Walkout Week aimed at destroying the oil companies. A week of this and they will have no choice but to lower their prices. They just announced on the news that Exxon had a 32% increase in profit last year alone. Right now it probably is 150% profit. I say we all stop driving for a week and shut the whole country down. Forget about going to work. Forget about driving, unless it is an emergency. Just take a week off and relax. Buy enough groceries to survive the week and let them all swim in their own crap. The only problem is that all the people do not have the guts to do it. I do know that this will also hurt the rest of the economy also. So there is no need to remind me of this. We need to do something to wake up this country. It's time to let them know that they do not have a strangle hold on us. At least we could have a "Nationwide Don't Buy Any Fuel Today Day"

Since I already have a nearly unlimited supply of firewood - $4K is not a bad price. I'll need to figure out where I could place it (to keep things pretty) before contacting a dealer. How is the hot water heater connected. Is there a separate heat exchanger or does the same water that is piped underground also go to the water heater?

Exxon Mobil, profits up 47% sales volume only up 3 %. Over last year. Think a bit on it.

VA_joe, the hot water heater you use for your oil fired boiler would work with the wood furnace system. Yes, from what I understand, the water would be heated by the wood furnace and then sent via the underground piping to your home water heater/container.

Yea, these units aren't expensive when you think about the return on investment. home heating oil is only going to get more expensive...

Jim, I like your idea, but don't see it ever happening. First you'd have to get everyone off all the junk they are hooked on-- e.g. consumer goods... but, perhaps we'll see what happens when fuel is north of 5.00 a gallon...
