I had to use the laundromat tonight... my house STINKS!

Whoever put the septic system in here cheaped out and only put in a 500 gal. tank. Not sure how much money was saved, since the tank itself is probably the least expensive part of the project. We get it pumped every couple years, figure it's cheaper than having to replace a leach field.

Ours are 250 gallon verticals tiles. House, 1st 250, short pipe, 2nd 250, 20' of pipe, brick 1200 gallon brick beehive, 150-200' field tile (nobody's sure).

The previous owner said he had his wife and 4 daughters. Had it pumped every 2 years. So that's what we try and do to avoid any problems.

Add me to the group that hates perfumed laundry products. We only buy unscented.
Have been using an unscented laundry sanitizer made by Lysol.
Clean clothes have no smell nor do they need it.

I agree. Scented everything:

Laundry soap
Dryer sheets
Bath soap
Shampoo
Deoderant
Lotion
Air fresheners
Etc.

No wonder the bugs are attracted to us, we smell like a scented candle factory.

Yeah, I thought it was nasty as heck.

As for nasty stuff... take the stopper out of you bathroom sink sometime and look what's underneath that.

I just checked ours, sort of a licorice taste...not bad.

Then how the hell is she supposed to clean the rest of the house and do the laundry??

I think my mother hung clothes on the line in winter too, I do remember shoveling a path to and under it.

My mom only used the dryer when absolutly necessary. Waste of electricity! I can remember her running to take clothes off the three strand line due to rain or a neighbor burning leaves or trash nearby. Boy could she move quick.

We had the suds saver washing machine and I grew up in town. My parents grew up in the depression and were very frugal. I don’t think we had a dryer until I was about 10. My mom hung the cloths up inside during the winter to dry.
