Yes, that is the Mahindra sunshade. It is held on the ROP by clamps. A lug welded on the shade prevents it from tilting lower. In this picture you can see that the front is over the cowl.

Kinda dorky looking, but I love my limb risers. So does my exhaust stack!:D

Nothing dorky at all about those limb risers. Wish I had them on my tractor. Did you fabricate them or find a kit? They look factory and are very functional.

I was tearing down a lean to the other day and they would have been a real asset to have. Had to be really careful during the demolition.

Just need to vent. The 3550's ROPS is tied into the tractor in such a way that it looks like I can't remove it without a sawzall. I've always run vintage open tractors with no ROPS and have easily ducked under limbs while bush hogging around the edges of my pastures. I keep the ROPS folded down, but it's still several inches higher than my head. Yesterday I easily pushed one above my head and when I dropped it back down, it caught the ROPS. The limb came forward and drilled me in the back of the head. Later, I ducked under one that was about eye level and it busted off the turn signal box mounted on the ROPS. Looked online and it's an $85 part. $@#$^!!! Time to get out the epoxy and fiberglass and see if I can salvage it.

I just did the same thing. AGAIN. busted that awful $135 crap light off in spite od it being in an armored surround. Just going to put it on with silicone so it pops off easily next time. Bgoing to eventually chop off the damned light housings and find a good place to mount them like on the back side, inside. Anywhere but out flying in the breeze like currently.

Dorky? I think it really 'tank-ifies' your already stout tractor...

My solution is pictured, the little 3005 open station...

What I built for my former employer, the cab 4066R.

I built them as part of the "plan" for the roof & grill guard. A little tricky design to allow the hood to open and the loader arms to clear it.
Thanks for the comment.

I hate the 'roll bar' too. I did manage to buy about the only tractor/roll bar combination that fits thru my 7 ft high doors. After having it a while, I discovered that it holds up my canopy and led lights very nicely. It also is a great thing to hang the plastic curtains I made as a makeshift cab enclosure. So overall I'm glad it's there.

That's real nice Greg, 'exo-skelital' thing going on there  You've got that cab covered nicely. How did you bend the tubing?

Thanks Rusty... I used a square tube roller gizmo the boss had, made by Woodward Fab. Hand crank deal, just kinda guess at it, trial and error untill its about right. It was a fun project. Quit the job before it got painted, but fab work was complete.

Oldoak, very sorry to hear about your friend. Be safe out there...

Tragic. My condolences to you, and your friend's loved ones.
Thank you, Rick

My dear friend farmed all his life and knew his tractors, but one laps in his safety consciousness (not putting up his foldable ROPs) while using his lawn mower took his life. It hit our local rural community like a ton of bricks.

Just wanted to remind everyone ROPs are there for a good reason whether we like them or not.

Good reminder for sure. I was trimming a back pasture yesterday and noticed a 2 foot deep hole that I never saw before. The bull must have dug it and it grassed over making it hard the see. Stuff happens even in fields you think you know.
