I'm opposed to any regulations on ductape. After all, people
kill, ductape doesn't. If you regulate ductape, think of all the
employees that will be out of jobs and the overall impact on
the economy. And has anybody considered the potential medicinal uses for ductape?

I think I'll start producing t-shirts with the phrase, "Duct tape doesn't bind and gag people, people bind and gag people."

It'll be slightly ahead of it's time, but maybe...

Personally I don't have a problem with it as long as it is kept out in the open (not concealed) and we maintain some tight controls on the DUCT TAPE SHOWS.

There's no need for licensing, just put a $1 tax per roll on it to help the widows and orphans. It's the California way.

Saw this on a bumper sticker today:
"My wife - YES
My dog - MAYBE
MY duct tape - NEVER!"

Here in the Columbus Indiana area they have controlled the sales of sudafed and Alka-Seltzer Plus because it contains the correct form of an antihistamine used to create methanfedamine (not sure of all the spellings!), which is a drug that can be created by pretty much anyone from over the counter ingredients. This drug is more popular in the rural areas because it doesn't compete well with the other drugs that can easily be obtained in the big cities.

As a result, I can only buy 2 packs of sudafed at a time at Walmart or other places and can only pay for it at the pharmacy counter. Plus, they ask what I'm going to use it for, and if I hesitate or don't use the right tone of voice they can refuse to sell it to me.

By the way, did anyone here see the movie "Duct Tape Forever" with Red Green and company? I heard it was coming out a while ago, but haven't seen it showing or a video. Was it just in Canada? Red would have a heart attack if they regulated duct tape!

I'm getting a little worried reading this thread! After all, many important philosophies are derived from duct tape, such as the ancient philosoph of Duct-Shui - see http://www.ductshui.com for details /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Danny, Red was up here in South Bend for a one time showing of the movie. It was set up through our local PBS station. I didn't see it nor have I heard anything about it. You can get the video in a couple of weeks per this link /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

"did anyone here see the movie "Duct Tape Forever" with Red Green and company"

I did see this on DVD when I was out the other night and commented to my wife that we would need to get that one. Guess I'll have to pick it up before it is considered "contraband"!
