/pine, now you are just being insulting.
Earlier you said that you can't take people seriously who can't tell the difference between your, you're, there, their, they're etc etc. then you say poor word forms set off "bells and whistles".
Face it, you're a stiff.
First off your reply makes no sense...just using a goof post to reply et al...
FWIW...It was never my intention to insult, strike a nerve with or disrespect anyone...
I have praised J_J's contributions here numerous times and never intended my replies to make him think I was referring in any way to his posts...
IMO... Those that have replied with knee jerk reactionary responses need to take a step back and take a deep breath...
A web based message board is exponentially different than having a live conversation (@ brin...)...
As I have said...spelling (not to be confused with word form) is not nearly as important as knowing the the actual meaning of words used...
Recently there was a thread about "first impressions" and a LARGE MAJORITY of members that responded said they thought they were VERY GOOD at determining a person's character after a "first impression" based on various characteristics etc...etc...
...With a mostly text (and emotion icon) based message board it is impossible to see how a person dresses, what (exposed) tattoos/piercings etc. they may have, how they are groomed etc...etc...The things that the folks mentioned above stated that they (partially) used in judging a persons character...
My point is/was...with ONLY the printed word (minus emoticon) exposed to anyone reading a post that is all a contributor has is the words they use to convey their thoughts...just saying...
Again it was not ever my intention to point out, throw darts, condemn anyone....
I'm a realist I do not apologize for my comments as they were never meant to point out or meant to insult anyone...it was just my opinion about message boards...
...I try to make it clear in my signature that I am blunt and short on words and don't sugar coat anything for the sake of thin skinned readers...sorry...cheers!
