greatrandini got it right about the Shingles, exepting maybe the old folks part. I got them on the left side of my rib cage. It felt like someone had hit me in the ribs with a ballbat, man are they painful and itch like you cannot believe. Pustules on your body like boils, what a fun ailment. I had Chicken Pox as a kid and you have to have had them to get Shingles. My son got Chicken Pox when he was four. They weakened his immune system and he got a viral infection in his blood and we almost lost him. I recommend the innoculations, it could save you or a family member. Bacteria and viruses are continually evolving, thats why the flu epidemic killed so many in the early 1900's. The Bird flu stands a good chance of doing the same. I will still shake your hand, but go easy on the grip (arthritis). I will still take precautions, washing or hand sanitizers, but I will not bump your elbow.

You guys are panzies. What do you do in the woods when you need to use the facilities? How about on a construction site after visiting the porta-pottie?

You can go on and get your flue shots and stock up on handy wipes but germs and bacteria are everywhere, you can't escape. How about those dust mites? Can you feel the little bugs crawling on you?

There are certain things that require a little washing up like butchering up raw meat or changing baby diapers.

My name is Joe and I like to play in the dirt. I am not afraid of the dirt and I haven't been sick since I was 11 years old unless you count alcohol induced sickness as required for proper bachelor parties and such events.

Just for that, I'm not going to shower before work tomorrow...and I'm going to clean the horse stalls prior to work in my work clothes. Maybe someone will want to bump my elbow.

I remember Clint Eastwood in one of his movies replied to the question "didn't your mom teach you to wash your hands after going to the bathroom?" by saying "no, she taught me not to p_ss on my fingers."

Dont forget what the nastyiest thing out there is folks...its money.I try to pay for everything i can with a card.Money has germs all over it.
Dont you just love going into a store and the cashier is coughing and gagging all over the place,plus bagging items?

I'm sure you guys already know this but you can carry Purell in your pocket (Go Jo) and wash without water or towels anywhere.

My ophthalmologist has it in all his offices and swears by it.

The wife of a buddy of mine works for the health department and does restaurant inspections and such. He was already something of a hypochondriac, but now he can't eat at most of the restaurants in town. I like Chinese food, at least the hot and spicy kind, and I've eaten at places where I figure they never throw anything out. I also don't mind leaving my lunch sit out at room temperature until lunch time, and that gives him fits. Guess which of us never seems to have stomach problems.

Germs are everywhere. Most of them are our friends.
