Last night i relocated snow for 4 hours @ a commercial property that i plow. I also enjoyed the open air for 60 seconds or so, when i got out of my toasty warm cab to take a leak! :D

heh heh heh heh...

then, with my carhartt suit on and hoodie, i blew my 14' wide by 350' long drive -- in bliss.
......!

When it gets cold (below 0 F ), and the wind blows, just add a snowmobile helmet to your carhart suit and it will keep your face warm and the snow mist out of your face. Better than a hoodie IMO, and still get the freedom from in a cab.

Blowing snow is fun...
But it is a LOT more fun in a warm cab, especially when the wind is blowing powder dry all around you... I like the sound of the engine just barely above the tunes on the stereo in my big cabbed ZTR. Cup of coffee riding along... Now that is the way to move snow when you are an old geezer like I have became... KennyV

And I think I would have a cab if I didn't still log the woods to bring firewood up to the yard. Would wreck that nice cab real fast. I think.
Yup, I'm sure I will when that time comes. But at 70, I'm still doing firewood.

I, too, enjoy blowing snow exposed to nature without the cab. I wear my snowmobile suit, dorky hat with ear flaps, NFL style (or mini mart robbing style) face protection and ski goggles. The only recurring problem I have is my goggles sometimes fog up. Anyone have a fix for this other than spitting in 'em?? Thanks and Regards, Mike

If you look at the top of your goggles there's probably a mesh screen for letting air in. I've found that if every now and then I take my goggles off and beat them against my leg to clear this little mesh of snow they stay unfogged :)

Hannibbalbill What kind of blower did you get? Im using a backblade and front loader on my BX 24 and am interested in snowblowing instead. Im down in the fingerlake's south of cayuga lake not nearly as much snow as you.

I have an open station L5030 - no snow blower, but a bucket and rear blade. We've had an incredibly intense winter so far in Kansas, which is rare. Lots of 40mph wind driven snow. I cleared my property and my neighbors today. It was 6 degrees F outside, and still blowing. Drifts were 3 and 4 feet high! I must have had 5 layers of cloths on - thermal underwear, jeans, insulated bib overalls, hoodie, jack-shirt, carhart coat - I could hardly move, but other than my hands and feet, stayed warm, and like the OP, liked being outside.

I have a Toolcat with cab. Tonight's temp is suppose to be -15F with high of -4F tomorrow. It has been single digits highs for the past 10 days. Almost 30" of snow the past 3 weeks with high winds and lot of drifting.. Worst winter we have had in as long as I can remember. The month of December was 1" short of record month.

Love the cab and snow blower. Blower is great for deep snow and getting it out of the way. My only problem with the cab, is sometimes I live the heater too high and I start sweating.;) Occassionally, have to open the door and cool down the cab. My suffering never ends.

You can just imagine what the driver (me) looked like after blowing last winter.... (I should add that I'd already dusted off the hood of my 2310)...

Gotta love it!!:D
