I need a bigger trailer

The laws are a little more relaxed around here (or at least less enforced). I don't plan on pulling heavy loads for any long distances or on major highways if I can avoid it. I mainly wanted to get a trailer that will handle whatever I can put on it in the future.

My truck has the 7.3l diesel. I am thinking about trying to find a '99-'03 F-450 or F-550 with a Western Hauler bed to tow with, but my truck should handle the occasional heavy load for a while.

Now this is starting to make sense. :) Get a good brake controller and good luck to you! :)

The trailer has some goooood brakes on it. Both axles have brakes.

I had my brake controller set to 30% when I first hooked up to the big trailer. When I touched the brake pedal, I was almost thrown into the steering wheel.

I've found that it works best when the controller is set to 20-25%.

Yeah, with a trailer that big, you've got to be careful with those "boost" settings in particular! :D

I've given up on boost settings entirely with my Prodigy and now I only adjust the wheel up or down depending on what I'm towing. Didn't have to do that with my old (smaller bias ply) tires, but with the new, larger radials on the trailers... those trailer brakes can send me flying too!
