I need a compact tractor

given the state of the economy it's a buyer's market for used equipment--people who are motivated to sell because of financial issues are rampant.

If you have worries about a used tractor write up a written offer contingent on an inspection at a reputable dealer. If you're serious about a tractor, the modest cost to transport and check out the machine will be a good investment and will buy you peace of mind. At worst it can help you avoid buying a lemon.

Lots of businesses buy used diesel equipment every day--it shouldn't be considered a high-risk endeavor. I would say generally if a machine without excessive hours looks well-maintained, has clean fuel and oil, doesn't blow lots of blue smoke after it's warmed up, and the hydraulics and steering work smoothly it's a good chance that you'll be able to buy it with confidence.

I have a new Kioti CK20 HST with FEL that has under 25 hours on it. The tractor is in great shape. I am going to have to get a bigger one in the spring and thought I'd wait until then to sell this one. I was planning on asking $13,500 with the hope of getting $12,000. I paid about $16,000 (have to check the invoice) three months ago.

I'm in NH but my wife is a photographer and can send some pretty good pictures and video. I also own an interest in a small trucking operation, so I can deliver it to you as well.

If you're interested let me know.

It is a terrific little tractor that I bought for the same reasons you're looking. We only need a bigger one because we just bought 45 acres of completely raw land for our family farm. I've got some work to do.

somebody please tell me where to buy it. Used is my preference but I want one in really good shape. That or super cheap...yeah yeah i know...

I live in Phoenix. So many scams on craigslist i about gave up on that. Does anyone have a tractor within 500 miles of me that i can take a look at. Start by photos on the net.

I like the kubotas B series but would consider the bx series with a bit of convincing :) John Deere? Or other comparable?

Any help, or suggestions for a first time tractor buyer would be most appreciated. I started the other post about HST Or Manuel and I am convinced i would be happiest with HST. I will consider anything though.

I need the loader and would love to have a BH but probably can't afford one of those. I can add a gannon. So basically if you have anything for sale please let me know so i can consider it...Thanks much.

My first tractor was a new 2005 Kubota B7510HST (21 hp engine, 17 hp pto, HST, 4WD, power steering) with the LA302 FEL (4-ft wide bucket, 800 lb lift). Cost: $12,600 plus tax. This tractor goes for about $8K on eBay.

For example, I used that tractor to excavate for paver block walkways using the FEL bucket and a 4-ft box blade

I don't know how many acres you have (I have 10 acres flat pasture, 6 acres in hay), but if you have only a few acres, a small tractor like this can get a lot of your work done.

Good luck.
