Yes. I would expect that a person would understand to remove flammables from around the hole before putting a Fuzee in the hole. Worked for me.

Ever been in a chicken coop? lol I wouldn't put a road flare anywhere near my coop, that thing would go up easier than a matchbox

If you grew up used to snakes and mice I doubt you would move.

Anyone everywhere deals with snakes and mice, some places is a bit worse than others.

I got snakes and mice in basement. Just not 80 of them nothing poisonous

We actually have quite a lot of poisonous snakes here in Ohio but there really rare, I have seen a copperhead maybe a dozen times and they always seem to be babies.

We have lots of spiders also.

It's interesting to look up snakes in your state lol, I did once and it listed one or two rattlers and half a dozen poisonous snakes I have never heard of ANYONE seeing in Ohio. Water moccasin and copperhead is about it.

Try treadle feeders?

I got the small one from A Rat Proof | Bird Proof | Rodent Proof | Squirrel Proof Chicken Feeder and once it was in, no more rats. They were getting pretty bold, and were digging up the yard all the time. We had started putting the regular hanging feeder in a lidded metal trash can at night, but would still come out to find the feeder swinging with no chickens around at other times. The treadle feeder pretty much put a complete stop to it. Our main feed storage is also a metal can.

Other thing we did was to jack up the coop, dig out the floor, put down bricks around the perimeter and hardware cloth across the floor area, then put down new dirt.

All of this was in addition to glue and snap traps, which were at least getting some...I think we trapped 6 or 8.

I had two cats over the winter and didn't see a mouse ANYWHERE in my shop, near my house or in my chicken coop. I only have 12 chickens and use 1 feeder, but I live right next to the woods and have always had a healthy population of mice.
Until I got two cats. Since they've become veteran mousers I find pieces of lizards, moles, mice and a few toads dead.

You need a Tasha. She barely has room to get herself thru the pet door in the shed entry door but she brought me a full grown squirrel in and laid it out so nice on the footmat inside the door - legs nice and straight, tail stretched out. I wish I could have watched her bring it in. She gets full grown rabbits too but she really shines with mice - no telling how many.

I have 4 Rat Terriers, they are the ultimate rodents killing machines. The females are better hunters than the males. One female got 74 mice in 2 days while I was mowing, she ran along the rear tire and would lunge out and bite them enough to kill them, she never ate them... Not only that, they also make excellent door bells when someone shows up.
There are (dogs) and then there are Rat Terriers.....:D

They are also trained to attack lawyers... those vermin:rolleyes:

Cats or rats. That's pretty much your choice. Traps and poisons might kill them when (not if) they show up, but it won't kill all of them and they will doing nothing to keep them away or repel them.

Cats are a twofer: they do both, kill and keep away. Easy-peasey.

And if you decide on rats, then get ready for the snakes that aren't all that far behind.

No thanks,

I just saw two "new this spring" garden snakes in the flower beds along with an adult. NO MICE IN THE HOUSE THIS SUMMER!

I need to get them down to the shop ;-)

OOH! Moles are on notice!
