I Ordered DeWalt Tools From China

Well I never thought of that but now that you mention it there could be disruption in trade. I didn’t get any response from the three emails so I pulled the plug. Maybe PayPal will have some information.

I figure "Order at your own Risk". I have successfully ordered a few small things and have been ripped off once. Amazon refunded my money promptly.

My 16 ton hydraulic electrical crimper for sixteen bucks or something has not arrived from China via Ebay. It says shipped but the seller has closed their account! That's a first for me. It seems I always get the little stuff, even with delay, but larger stuff never gets here.

I think you are right that you assume all risks when ordering anything directly from China.

Sad part is...we had no clue we were even ordering items from China. Now we are more observant.

I ordered two batches of seeds from a local supplier, first lot arrived via local mail, second lot where conficated by customs as a prohibited import from china with an invitation to explain.
Was all cleared when i produced evidence of a single payment to the local seller and they got a please explain.
It is frustrating when you think you are buying locally and have this happen.

Weird. Ebay refunded my money. Now, I still don't have a hydraulic electrical crimper! Start again! Maybe not pick the cheapest one this time. Go for the 17 dollar one instead of the 16 dollar one! Maybe even splurge a dollar for shipping.

When I order seeds, they are most always those known and labeled for my geographical location. I see no geographical similarities between China and Australia. I could be wrong.

Sellers cannot close their accounts for at least 60 days after all outstanding orders are delivered or issues resolved. If it says 'Not A Registered User' or similar, they were suspended (thrown off the site), at least under that ID.

I just received my third credit from Paypal today. All in a couple of weeks time. First was an item that was received partially broken. Seller made good by refunding a generous portion of the amount. Second was where the seller short shipped me. Seller said they would issue credit but did not and quit responding to emails. Got Paypal involved and was refunded after seller did not respond to Paypal. Third was an item not received. Seller refunded the money promptly. Never had any problems at all before this.

The seeds were an unusual flower and the supplier was listed as being about 100km away, I didn't know if they would grow or not but was interested in the flowers, I went to see other items for sale on his ebay site and these other seeds came up, same supplier, same location but the seeds apparently came in from China.
The scanning devices that Customs use are extremely sophisticated and accurate and I thought I was getting them locally and I am quite aware of the quarantine restrictions.
Having said that I have seen China supplying restricted goods on ebay with no warning.
In this instance it was only a couple of dollars so I wasn't concerned but given we are free from a lot of exotic diseased I am concerned that I could inadvertently introduce something nasty.
Johnny Depp discovered this some time ago when he brought his two dogs into the country illegally, he didn't think it was an issue but we don't have and have never had rabies here and don't really want it.
Only takes one infected animal or seed to start an epidemic.

The first batch of cherry trees in Washington DC (gift from Japan I think) were confiscated also. We have enough invasive species that we can't get rid of already.

We got cane toads, rabbits, foxes, blackberries, deer, hares, carp, sparrows, wasps (european), Indian Mynahs, there are more but that's a good start.

You can get seeds from overseas but they have to be certified and carry the certificate from whatever authority certifies them.
We buy dried whole chillis from Mexico for cooking that are not available here from a local supplier, all certified as disease free.
Probably irradiated but not sure.

That's my Beef with E-Bay. It usually and often takes sixty plus days to get stuff out of China, and then my options become difficult for conflict resolution, and even my feedback option is gone. I tried to make them aware of it, but you might as well talk to a computer.

That is the main reason I deal with Amazon. Thus far, they have always made things right and done so promptly.

You can filter location on ebay to US and North America. Many items from China can also be found in US with much quicker shipping. May cost a little more but no long waiting period.
