I have to suggest that you stop worrying about it and have the dealer deliver the tractor... 70-miles ain't nothing to them and any dealer worth his salt will be more than happy to deliver the tractor...

Dealers often can do it cheaper - My local dealer is coming up to pick up my B7610 to slap a backhoe on it, then he's going to drop it off. Two round trips, about 50 miles each way, 200 miles. My fuel costs alone would be about $50, he's doing it for $150. My time (with the traffic around here) would likely be at least 4 hours. Plus when he picks it up and drops it off I don't spend more money at his shop
Thanks for everyones advice, I bought the L48 home last night. It was a easy ride I hardly knew I was pulling it except when it came time to stop, then I knew I had some weight back there but luckly I didn't have to make any sudden stops. I took my time and drove near or at the speed limit, I keeped plenty of distance ahead of me, and I timed the traffic to be light, no problem. Next is a good set of pallet forks and a rock bucket. Oh I was wrong, it is a 12" and a 24" bucket I got and not an 18".

- M7040, L48, KX121-3, RTV 1100 and a couple of older Fords
I moved both my L48s with my new F450 this morning....the perfect combo. My trailer is 10K lbs., with no problems, and my KX121-3 is heavier still. The new Ford deisel engines are impressive, dual turbo and always amped up. Congrats on your L48, you won't be disappointed.
