I find it interesting to compare and contrast childhood memories with other people that I grew up with.
I reunited with a cousin that I hadn't seen since I was a kid. He said I would purposely charge headfirst at the refrigerator and slam my head into it. I have no recollection of that.
My great aunt lived with us for a while, because she was senile. At the very end, my parents put her in a nursing home. My last memory was that she peed on the kitchen floor and used a kitchen towel to clean up herself and the floor. I always thought that was why she got sent to the home.
My sister remembered that they caught her in the process of attempting to boil water on the stove in a plastic bucket. So the real fear was that we couldn't watch her 24/7 to ensure she didn't burn the house down.
