Fred... Do you think it's possible you are asking too much from a 30 hp hydro tractor?

I wouldn't even go there.

The Fred is the man., quickly becoming legend in TBN circles. He has blown past anyone that has questioned his intent or his abilities. I might add that some very prominent TBN members were skeptical of The Fred, now they seem to be silent.

The gray stuff might be grits - no, nevermind, too far north. Maybe gravy? I'm guessing the colors are a little "off". That might also explain the "lime" in the iced tea.

refried beans is my guess

And with the lime, I'd guess a more "adult" beverage. SoCo perhaps.

Yup You're the man kw. Breakfast in Seattle while on vacation last year. Refired beans and obviously Dos Equis beer at 10AM; it's the only breakfast I ever had that resembled Homer Simpson. On vacation we start drinking anytime after 9 or 10 AM. Not much better than a cold beer with eggs on the weekend, I know better during the week.

Hot out today around 83 degrees. I went back to finish 1 job and beat the tractor home full tilt. I noticed the temp gauge went 1 tick right of center from normal. I had the A/C on also. Once home I checked the coolant temp and oil, both ran at 194f. Looks like I am at the edge of thermal whatever you call it. My radiator is most likely right at that point of needing more surface area, coolant area. I stuck the garden hose in the rad and the temps came down quickly.

Running on the road takes more power than anything else I do with this machine. Hard to imagine a 6,000 lbs. machine powered with a 40hp engine. It simply is not enough. Add in the hydro loss and see why Fred is never happy.

For now the machine is working alright for me and does most everything I ask of it.

I''ll post a photo of my fuel tank combo in my basement if you promise not to send me any death threats!

I know that grey stuff isn't grits, but as far as being too far north....being a truck driver, I have eaten grits that were listed on the menu in restaurants as far north as MAINE!

I think Fred is just more honest about his expectations and his tractor's actual performance than most posters on TBN. I believe that's why some just don't get it.

I generally like my M9540. But I hate the cable transmission shifter. It's a piece of crap and never should have been on a tractor of this price.

I generally like my JD2210. But I hate the non-suspension seat and lack of tilt/extend steering wheel. Those items are crap and never should have been on a tractor of this price.
