I dunno..... one of my employees had a brand new Tundra, and it was in the shop 5 times in the first 3 months.
Hope your luck is better
Do you realize that Toyota trucks have more American made parts then Chevy, Ford, or Dodge?
10K GVWR ... 3.73 gears ... my driving has been local short runs and the computer says avg 14.6 mpg. Friday I have to haul a mule 200 miles north and will be pulling a 20' stock trailer. I'll see then.
Interested , but confused is SS for stainless steel or those big black pieces that go over wheel wheels on fender and 1/4 panels ?
Have the 3.55 gear r/e in mine gettin 18.9 city/ almost 22 hwy. Could not give any towing figueres never towed anything with it yet. Mileage report with 2/3 big men in truck at any given time(over 200 lbs each-),with tools, ropeing saddles/tack
, and some field equipment in back. Taking off from complete stops easy, keeping hwy speeds 55 to 70. Also run it in 4wd daily so I don't get stuck or tear up back field.

I can relate to how the tow/haul works with the Ford Superduty diesel and it should act the same with a gas engine truck. Using tow/haul changes your shift points so that the transmission shifts at a higher rpm. It also will downshift the transmission as you're applying the brakes and works with your integrated brake controller. I've had it on two Superdutys and it's one of the best features on these trucks.
Its not good for it at all... Just generates heat and acellerates wear. Not to metion killing fuel mileage in the process. Truck is probably in need of more gear to help it overcome the loads being applied to it. Or you can lock it out of 6th when pulling.I did notice the downshift of the transmission. Towing the trailer it appeared to shift alot ... seemed as if the transmission was doing nothing but shifting. I would be going along at 75mph and the slighest condition that required some power it would shift down to 5th and then to 4th and back up to 5th and then to sixth and back down ... I kept thinking this can't be good on the transmission.
