Usually the machine will start to creek in places it did not to let ya know something is loose.

The backhoe manufacturer probably has instructions for installing and maintaining their backhoe. It is possible that there are torque specs. or grade specs. for bolts or that threadlocker or locktite be used. plowking

I used to work as an automobile technician and after having a few problems with bolts loosening up on various repairs, even after torquing to spec, I pretty much use Loctite 242 (medium) on most bolts. If they are something that I don't plan on removing such as a front clip, I will even use high strength 262 loctite. This will eliminate the loosing of hardware from vibration and father time. They even make Loctite 290 (light, self wicking) you can put on adjustment bolts after the fact.

Wanted to let everyone that contributed that I got my tractor back yesterday. Fortunately it was "only" a seal problem in the rear axle. Cost about $500. Dealer forgave the transport costs (hoping to sell me another tractor). Everything seems back to normal fortunately.

I guess I'm missing something as usual...But...if the B7800 just turned a year old, seems like it should have been a warranty repair to me...

Was there a reason why it was not covered by the warranty, which is 2 years bumper to bumper on the tractor as far as I understand?

I know on my B2910 the warranty was two years for everything and 3 years powertrain.

Sound's like you got off lucky there. I think it was a learnig experience for us all.
