Re: I think I\'m Removing the Foldable ROPS...

I don't have a problem with you taking off (removing) your ROPS. If it is in the way, its in the way. But just realize there are situations and places you shouldn't go. For years, tractors didn't have them. Darn few tractor drivers ever need one. Its a matter of taking the chance. I get hit in the back of the head more often now with the ROPS than I ever did without one.

Do what you consider best for you. However, I'm not taking mine off. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Beenthere,

Sorry but I have to ask...

Is that because the wife can find you easier with the rops sticking up like that... /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif I thought it was from limbs hitting me, but maybe you are right, Henro. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Re: I think I\'m Removing the Foldable ROPS...

After reading these stories, I have reconsidered my "mowing on flat ground?" comment in the seat belt thread, and am now going to wear the belt whenever I am on the tractor.

I have struggled too hard to get to this point in life to "buy the farm" on my tractor.

Thanks, guys.

Re: I think I\'m Removing the Foldable ROPS...

A lot of commercial grass people in my area have New Hollands etc and 90% of them remove the upper half of the ROPS! I do not agree with it, but I have seen it all to often (removing the ROPS).

Re: I think I\'m Removing the Foldable ROPS...

A few years back took the ATV safety course and the instructer pointed to his neighbor's flat driveway that was 30-40' long and said a guy died on an ATV right there. Backing it off his pickup it flipped and broke his neck.
