When I picked up my B7800, my dealer went over a number of things. Among them, he told me that Kubota was wrong about two things. The first was that, if something went during the warranty period, I was responsible for any transportation costs. He said that, if they had to come out to my place or had to trailer the tractor in, it was on their nickel not mine. The second error was that first service needed to be done at 50 hours. He told me not to call them until 100 hours and they would come out to my place, again on their nickel, and do the in-service, preferably with me there, so I could see how to do everything. I would only pay for materials, not their time.
I can understand the first point, since my dealer is highly customer service oriented (as opposed to discount pricing oriented). They do whatever is needed to set-up an attachment on your model tractor and deliver it ready to rock and roll. For someone like me, who lacks a serious workshop, it is worth the price of admission to not have to cut down a PTO shaft or align and adjust some esoteric assembly. But, I am unsure about the second point. Everyone on this forum seems very into the 50-hour service. I am nowhere near that timepoint, yet, but would like to know what others thing about not doing it until 100 hours per my dealer. He said it wouldn’t affect the warranty, the durability or lifespan of the tractor, or anything else to go to 100 hours.
