I want a Canon Powershot SD300 camera

Hi All,
Years ago I modified a Canon Powershot SD300 to take pictures in the near infrared and near UV. To do this I had to take the camera apart to remove an internal filter and replace the filter with a piece of quartz glass made from a microscope slide the same thickness as the filter I removed. I now use filters in front of the camera to only let in IR or UV or both. Somehow the LCD screen on the camera suffered damage so I need a new one. This is just a silly hobby of mine that I don't spend much money on, so if anyone here has one of these old cameras not being used and would like to part with it for little to no money I would love to take it off of your hands. I have tried ebay several times but nobody will or can test the LCD screen on the parts camera they are selling and I don't want to buy a bunch of cameras just to find out that the one part I need doesn't work. As I said, this is a cheap hobby. But I do get some interesting pictures now and then.

I would think that the LCD screen from other models would work.

Thanks for the reply and the link. I will try to see if someone there can help me. I can buy a working camera but all I can find at the moment are more money than I can justify for a silly hobby. I especially like your suggestion that the LCD from other camerea models might work. I am getting some really cool pictures though. Looking through the UV filter makes for some interesting stuff. BTW, for the UV filter I bought a blacklight light bulb. The glass was, I assume, Wood's glass. Anyway, I turned on the lathe a plastic filter holder that fits over the camera lens and holds either the UV or IR filter. Then I made a saw from bronze that I charged with diamond paste. I used the saw to cut discs from the bulb. The discs are of course rounded but it doesn't seem to make much difference to the pictures. I made IR filters from old floppy discs using a gasket punch.

I found a Powershot SD400 for 20 bucks and it appears to be the same camera except it has a higher pixel count and some othet features not found in the SD300. It arrives soon so I am going to modify it the same way. When done I will post pictures from it.
