Unless you made serious modifications you aren’t driving across a 45 degree hill no what position the loader is in. Even if you added 4 more back tires and the tractor doesn’t flip you can’t stay in the seat. Descending a 45 degree slope in a controlled manner isn’t happening. Here’s a simulated 48 degree slope. My mower has a tractor beat bad on stability and there’s no way I could actually run that hill. IMG_4414.JPG

Great visual !

I壇 like to see you drive a tractor on a 45 degree hill. I don稚 think it痴 possible and certainly not workable. The only way I壇 work 45 degrease is with an excavator and cut it level as I went.

Yeah I'd enjoy a verifiable video as well. Shot from the side of course.

I already said.....it is suicide, YES, to drive across, side to side, on a 45.

It is not suicide going up and down.

I never go side to side. Even the areas I mow I only go up and down.

Park your tractor on the 45 degree slope and take a pic from the side. Not a close up. A 30ft away pic.

(As I stated before...the part of my trail that is 45 is in a gully and has steep ridgelines on both sides. Getting a camera shot of this is about impossible.)
So to appease your request I built a path to the south ridge on my property yesterday. Climbing the side of the ridge I had a clear shot from the lower side for a good picture. However, I found my parking brake does not hold on a 45. Facing up the side of the slope...I dropped my box and I turned my bucket upside down and tried to dig in. This did not hold. So I decide to back up and fix my box angle so the teeth will dig in to hold the tractor in place. This was a horrible idea. I hit the steepest part with my seatbelt off anticipating getting off to take a pic (I always wear it when in my normal trail). I was holding my weight with my arms braced against the steering wheel, left toe tucked under the brake pedal, right toe feathering the reverse. When I dropped the box, the teeth did not dig into the hard dirt, but instead took the weight off my rear tires, my body was heaved forward, and I started unintentionally sliding to the low/gully side during my descent. I couldn't get to the brakes with my toe wedged under it and I'm not even sure brakes would help. I quickly raised the box, dropped my bucket down, and control the tractor the rest of the way down.
After shaking off that terrifying experience and feeling foolish trying to prove myself, I started building up the bottom of the slope. Then climbing to the top of the ridge, turning around, ensuring I was dug in with my box, started to cut the steepness off the top.
Sorry no pics this time. I will get my buddy over with his drone as I progress more and will eventually conquer this....but I will do it for me....

Well, that description right there says you probably shouldn't be going on that hill!

Glad you are OK.

I’m guessing the OP can’t measure slope. A tractor might climb a 45 degrees slope in the best traction conditions. That’s assuming it doesn’t suck oil and hydro lock or spin a bearing on the uphill side. Descending a 45 degrease slope in a controlled manner isn’t happening either.
