Thanks for the link to the subsoiler. I remember the cable
puller thread. I think I could use the teeth on my box blade
to do pretty much the same thing. It won't be as deep in the
ground but I don't think it needs to be either. I'll have to
try this in my rocky clear cut if its as hard to plant as I think
its going to be.

Kind of shocked me too. Apparently, KBC bar is a generic term as mine was made by someone other than Jim-Gem, although it looks identical, except for the color. Next time, I'll order from your supplier.

I looked at the box blade, but decided it wouldn't go deep enough, FWIW.

I just got the bill for my seedlings. $218 goes to the contractor for the seedlings and labor. $75 to the Virginia Department of Forestry. They planted 4 + acres for me in less then 2 hours. A crew of guys jumped out of a van with the "dibbles" and went at it. Spacing is 10'x8x I believe. They look closer then that though. Well worth the $300 to watch the guys work and offer drinks /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
