So your saying if you went to buy a new car and ordered a 2009 but they sent you a 2007 you'd be alright with it. Since he said it came from another Cub dealer not a warehouse it's likely been sitting outside for 2 years with ozone attacking all the rubber items and UV rays fading the paint and plastic.
I bought a left over 2005 CC GT2554
It was still unassembled in the crate inside the dealers shop.
There is just no way I would have paid the same price for it as a new off the floor 2006.:)

What's the big deal when it was manufactured?

A lot of things you buy are not in continuous year-round production and may only be manufactured once every couple of years. So what? Do you deserve a discount just because it sat in a warehouse for a few months?

The way I see it is that you got a brand new mower at a fair price... sounds to me like you're having second thoughts about the purchase and are looking to wrangle a few bucks out of the issue.

Suck it up!

You got the mower you wanted at a price you agreed to pay...
I couldn't disagree with this more.;)
He agreed to pay $3550 for a 2009 but he did not get the 2009 that he paid the $3550 for.
Quit making excuses for the dealer.:(

7* what more could you want?
1*It's a big deal when he could have gotten a 2009 setting on the show room floor for the same $3550.
2*New model CCs are produced each year.
3*A discount is due because it's not the same deal as a current show room floor model.
4*He is not happy because he paid the $3550 price of a 2009, was lead to believe they were going to deliver him a 2009 but instead of delivering what they charged him for they only provided him a 2007.
I would have a hard time sucking something like that up.
5*I don't do well with sucking up getting screwed or shafted.
6*Nope he wanted a 2009 but all he got was a 2007.
7*The 2009 he paid for would be good for starters.;)

Except...

He couldn't.

Previously discussed in this thread, Cub revealed that the model he purchased was manufactured in 2007 and 2008 only. More will not be made until the glut of inventory in dealer stock is resolved.

I could easily see a buyer being upset by this. I could also rationalize the manufacture date as being acceptable. If the buyer feels he's been misled, he should just return it.

I'm pretty sure he could've gotten an 09, it just wouldn't have been called an i1050, instead it would be labled a ZTT 50.

In the fall of 2008 I bought a i1046. I looked at it and it was manufactored in 2007. My tractor is the same as your with a 46" cut instead of a 50" cut. Mine was a return with 7 hours on it. I negoiated a price of less than $1500.00, I think it was $1375.00. I also made the deealer throw in an additional 1 year warranty. I only say this to say take your machine back. It was way over priced. You should never have to pay near list for a left over tractor.

:)
My argument in that case is the o p paid $3550 for a 2009 ztt50 but was presented with a 2007 i1050 instead.
A clear case of misrepresentation by the dealer.
Dealer needs to do the rite thing and take back the mower and refund all the money to the OP.

1* Then why did the dealer sell the OP a product that never existed?
The dealer miss lead the OP.
2*Yes after the fact that the mower was delivered to the OP
This should have been revealed at the time of order not after the mower was delivered.
3*I can not accept a date of manufacture that conflicts with the date or age of the product claimed or stated on the sales invoice.
4*He has been misslead and is entitled to his
money back .
Passing a 2007 product off as a 2009 is certainly missleading.;)

I guess that's up to the buyer. I cannot imagine the dealer would even put up a fight.

I've been following this thread the past couple days and find the different view points very interesting. So interesting in fact that I stopped by my local dealer to talk to my friend about this situation. His explanation was very similar to Cub's explanation. He gave the example of them ordering in GT2542's a couple of month's ago. He said when he looked at the serial tag it was an 08 and even stated on the tag that it was manufactured in 08'. I asked him how they sell it as an 09' and he stated that they sell it as an 09' because it came directly from Cub in 09' and he was charged 09' prices on them. I asked him if this bothered him and he said that as long as there are no major production changes he doesn't mind, and asked me if I thought Cub should produce GT2542 in 09' just to say that it's an 09'...even if there is an entire warehouse of the same 08' GT2542. He told me that if there are major production changes they often have a chance to buy old inventory at a reduced cost, his example was a pile of SLT1554's in his lot that he's selling at $2,100. He did say that if inventory is transfered in and appears to be used most dealers will refuse it or work something out with the customer. He said that he tries to be upfront with the customer on all this information...saying most people understand and the ones that don't hopefully go somewhere else. Let me tell you, it was a very informative afternoon. Sorry for the lengthy reply.
