Well, I did get "light" ice cream :D

You and Bird mention Blue Bell. Guessing regional, like Crystal is here. Guessing you get it at HEB or Wally World... When we were in Texas a year and a half ago, HEB seemed to rule Texas...

I hope all you guys eatin' ice cream come down with a severe case of toenail fungus. I'm on a diet and can't even think of eating ice cream. Last week my MIL brought over a big apple pie and a 1/2 gallon of Blue Bell ice cream to dollup on top. I had to sit there drinkin' my diet soda and refuse to eat any. Oh well. . . .:(

And ice cream spade is something I never heard of until someone mentioned it on Tractobynet. I bought the Farberware stainless steel model at Walmart and haven't used either of our ice cream scoops since. It's so much better that I'll probably never use a scoop again.

Is it a cat 1 or cat 2 spade?

I don't think Guiness or Sierra Nevada Pale Ale have changed... :D

Say, have you ever made bread using flavoring grains from just made beer? In the past, after making a batch of beer, I have added a little of the grains to a fresh batch of bread dough; black patent, chocolate, and crystal grains add a nice flavor.

Yeah, but they keep cutting down on the calories:laughing:

Now, Bird, being a fan of Braum's ice cream, I would have thought that you would have bought the Braum's private labeled ice cream spade. It's the best I've run across.

We're right on the northern edge of Blue Bell and Braum distribution. Love them both, but was disappointed with Braum's decision to go to 3 pints. They are still the best bargain around, even at the smaller size.

No, I've not tried it yet. Read about it, but haven't tried it. I 'll have to try and find a source for some spent grain and give it a shot.

Here!, Here! Another vote for Braum's! For those who don't know it's a regional thing. Based in Oklahoma and distributed out to surrounding states. Good dairy products and their burgers ain't bad either!

Here's a link:

Of course just because it is "light" you still have to watch your in-take amount... so "she" says! :(

Yep, Robert, Blue Bell is a Texas ice cream sold in every grocery store I know of. Braum's is an Oklahoma ice cream and only sold (as far as I know) in their own stores, which sell a number of other grocery and dairy products, plus having the burgers and such as you can see in the link jayste posted. There are a lot of Braum's stores in Texas. And Braum's has the best old fashioned banana splits I know of. And my wife likes the chocolate sundae.

HEB is the big name in grocery stores from Centrai Texas south; none out here on the north side of Dallas/Ft. Worth as far as I know.
