Maybe...but look at the flower in post #1 from last year....that doesn't sync as well for the almond tree from comparison of Google pictures.

How about a CrabApple ?

Yes others have said that, and that may very well be what it is. I feel it's definitely the closest guess, however, it still doesn't match with some of the googling I've done on crabapple.

Every tree starts out as a bush. Probably some flowering ornamental.

Ok then look at a flowering Cherry, just thinking here.

Not sure of this one, still looks like a Crabapple.

It's not honeysuckle.

Now...crab apple...maybe. It at least is closest. My mother-in-law got several starter plants in a package deal from some seed outfit. We planted all of them in one end of the garden and now we've lost the details of which plant is which and what they are. They have all prospered fairly well and it's transplant time.

Here's a picture of the whole bush/tree. Ignore the plant next to it with the off yellow stake.

Can't say about the plant..... but I think that's the Grim reaper standing next to it

Yep....that's him alright. He kills everything he tries to grow, and don't know what to do with what does grow.

Dogwood? Does it have any berries on it at the end of summer? - round white or blue?

No dogwood...have one in the yard, it's different.

IDing shrubs is a real pain. One thing that we often use at the extension office is Google. Go to Google and click on the Images at the upper right. It'll then give you a box in the middle where you can either upload an image from the internet or from a file. Just click on the little camera image to see the options.

Sometimes, you'll get lucky and maybe get a selection that'll match really well.

We badly need a shrub DNA data base. Don't know whether anyone is working on one or not.
