My brother-in-law came up last night from New Orleans. He will be here a few days I reckon.

It lands tomorrow, the 16th. anniversary of Katrina. The only family left living down there is a niece and nephew. The niece is in Houma and the nephew is in Madisonville. They are all at their mother’s who is in Covington, (North of Lake Pontchartrain, right where you want to be)

Very few places in the world as exciting as Houma today.

Here’s a video of the storm arriving in Port Fourchon which is just west of Grand Isle, all the way down at the gulf. About 100 miles due South of New Orleans.

This is edited footage of Golden Meadow, about 20 minutes North of Port Fourchon. What a mess. Just after the 4 minute mark while kneeling behind the bed of his truck for protection, he yells tornado. They are storm chasers, a different breed lol

I’ve been watching the live feed I posted earlier, it is just starting to blow. They are driving around giving me a nice tour of my old stomping grounds. Hopefully that feed stays up.

I have empathy and sympathy for any and all having to endure dire circumstances of this storm...but I have neither for any of the idiots that needlessly put themselves in harms way just to capture videos of storm destruction etc...
IMO any so called "storm chaser" that gets killed by the effects of weather they did not need to be exposed to should have their graves marked with the following:...."I DIED BECAUSE I WAS STUPID"

I am just North of Covington. Ida took out the power at 5:25 PM. I have most of my family here. We are fine until the propane runs out.

Heard there is catastrophic damage to the electric infrastructure...much of NO is without power... as of 10:14 PM there was still a live feed from an earthcam on Bourbon ST...

The power could be off in many areas for extended lengths of time...it is a miserable scenario to deal with the aftermath of a storm with no power usually horrendous humidity...

Thoughts and prayers for any and all that have to endure...we'll be thinking of you...
