Idea for something round to cap a piece of 1 1/2" pipe with

Steve I believe the price of $27 delivered is about the same in today's dollars.

I cut a circle piece the size of the pipe of any flat stock i have. Weld it on and round off with grinder. Finish with a flap wheel. It looks great.

I made a rear bumper for my '84 S-10 pickup when I bought it new. It came from the factory with a 2x4 wood bumper because I couldn't decide what I wanted when I took delivery. Later I decided to make my own and did just that... welded circles cut from 1/4in plate to cap the ends, smoothed and painted it, and had a cheap heavy bumper for cheap.

Actually, that would be something I would've paged through as a kid. I wouldn't have read it, but would've studied the pics and read all the captions.

I let Shield Arc upstage this old pipefitter. I Should have thought of it as I have made many in my career along with all the other things he shared from the Franklin Book. If you weld,as we do on this tractor stuff, it is a must have reference along with all the welding references Shield has shared.
