Identifying Ferguson 135

I just purchased a Massey Ferguson MF 135 and would like to identify the year. It's a Perkins diesel engine. I found the identify tag/plate with the serial number on it. The location of the tag/plate was on the side of the battery holder near the air cleaner. The serial number on the tag is: 641017817.

I don't know if the US and Canada had different serial numbers but from what I understand the tractor may orginally been purchased in Canada.

Based on information found on tractordata.com it showed the serial number for a 1966 as: 641014874 and I have 641017817.

Do you still feel it is a 1966?

Yes -- Duffster had it -- if it was made in 67 or after it would have a 9A in front -- most of the 135 Tractors sold in Canada were made in beautiful downtown Detroit
