sad thing is, I had the government actually buy an RTV for a guy. He had some disability... not sure what, he drove his truck here and loaded the RTV himself.

I hate that, but a lot better than some of the destruction they've blowed our money on the last few years. (pun intended)

why do you hate that??? i'm disabled and my hpx is the only way i can get out and in the woods or really do anything outdoors. i rally can't drive a big truck so the hpx is perfect for my needs i feel if someone is disable and it's for reel then why the heck not. it sure would have been nice if they would have atleast payed half of my hpx.lol

I think Milkman and Messik were hating (or saddened by) the government paying for a recreational vehicle. After all, why should anyone be entitled to a machine to increase their enjoyment and why should I have to pay for it?

Sorry, if this offends, but I am strongly offended by our culture of entitlement expectation.

you have to look at a disabled persons point of it as it's not a recreational toy we don't go jumping hills we use them ina totally different manner. i really don't exspect anyone to understand anyone with a disability if they don't have one. i'm on ssi and i pay note on my hpx i collect scrap copper and aluminum to pay for mine. now the guy who had them buy one for him i would like to know what dis disabilty was that they bought it for him but if it was a bonified disability and he realy needed it then i really don't see no reason why not.i have a total of 5 disc out in my back and neck i have had two neck surgries one fusion at c6/7 and a cervical cage put in at c3/4 now c4/5 and c5/6 went out and two in my lumbar went out too.now without my hpx i would be a couch potatoe and end up with more health problems but the hpx helps get me out and into the woods(keeps me active as much as possible)without it i couldn't walk that far. but i pay for mine i even tried for a handiecap plate but the dr said i wasn't in a wheel chair?????? but i get by.i eat pain killers like they candy but i get out the house and off the couch not one place will hire me because of my back and neck and the pain meds i take they say i'm a walking liability. when i get into my car techincly i'm D.U.I but i don't get any of them bad side affects because i have been takin the meds for over 7 years now.

i sure did did you miss the part of where i i wrote that i was wondering what was his disability?? there are some folks out there that scam the system thats why i would like to know what his disability was but what i'm saying is if you have a bonified disabilty i don't see no reason why you shoudn't be able to get one. i go around watching people that say they are disabled and i can tell some walk perfectly fine when they think knowone is watching and when they think someone is watching they act like they can't even stand up and that ticks me off to no end.i had to fight for two years to get my ssi it lost a car (got reposessed ) now they don't even question me about my disabilty my back and neck is so messed up. but it's because of scammers that i and other's have to fight for help. but all that i am saying is if someone is disabled (handicaped)and this utv will make thier life easier then get it for them it don't have to be no 18k rtv but it can be something .why spend the money on some stupid exsperiment like seeing if potatoes grow on the moon and spending 500 million doing it when you can give someone some sort of a life after they have had a major life altering accident.i don't exspect any of you to understand because probably all of you are able body people and i don't hold it against you beceause until i got hurt i thought the same way now i thnk diferently totaly dieferent.

as for as the guy driving up with a truck and loading it up i can drive my hpx onto a trailer and i'm disabled so thats not really a big deal but i still would have asked the guy what was his disablity he could have got a backpay from ssi and used that to pay for it and just said the goverment paid for it i don't know??

have you ever read the workmans comp laws. when you get hurt at work most states only cover you for 10 years after that your on your ownand ss has to pickup the bill after that. so you ar paying for alot more than utv's your paying for medical treatment for injured workers all over the country and your paying their monthly income too.it's sad but true.the insurans company collects the premuim and they cut them off after ten years .i have less than 2 years left on my ten years then i will probably lose my home. i bought my home 2 months before i got hurt i was in the prosecc of getting all the insuranse like disabilty on it and stiff when i got hurt buti didn't get it in time now i had a 30 year house note and can't work.i get a ssi check in the amount of 1200.00 a month my workmans comp is 800.00 a month and that is gonna be cut off in less than two years because they say that somewhere in the united states there is a job i can dothey say they don't know what it is and they can't find it but they say i can do something so with that they will cut me off in 2009. but what can i do ??? i'm just a disabled worker no lawyers wanna take comp cases because there isn't any money invaled in them for the lawyers.they say if i would have been next to the water when i got hurt i would be worth millions right now with my type of injury but sinse i got hurt on land it don't mean nuthin to them???
