When I asked my dealer about the vulnerability of the underbelly, they told me that they have 'never had a problem' with damage.. Well, they do now. Bastages.

KrisHansen,
Just like those extreme 4x4 guys who do the rock climbing, those vehicles are highly modified for the intended environment. You may not be done armoring and bulletproofing this thing until it looks like a skidder!
I know that sounds like the money pit, but with luck you'll get there. )</font>

Maybe that's where I got it from, I've been rock crawling for years, so the first thing I did was armor up my tractor. I just finished a belly pan that should protect most of what I have exposed under there.

Question: When does RedRocker need a "bash plate"?

Answer: Anytime his tractor is off his trailer. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

I've visited his place and he doesn't have rocks. He has petrified VWs. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Seriously, RedRocker has configured his Kioti exactly as he needs it for his very rocky, but beautiful hilltop property. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Yeah, for rocks, that looks perfect. I need more protection from trees, stumps, etc... more snag proofing it than anything..

Re: If it wasn\'t for bad luck... i\'d have none at all.

KrisHansen,
Sorry for all of your misfortune. I agree with you, we should be able to work these tractors as needed. If they can knock over a 6" tree, we should be able to safely push/pull/drag/run over it safely, but as we all know, the right set of circumstances will totally shut us down.

Have_Blue is right on target, we have rotary cutters that are safe for 2" to 3" saplings, but these same saplings can take out everything under the tractor. I am proof. A 1-1/2" sapling knocked a coupling loose this past weekend under the floorboard which blew my hydraulic pump. I am now looking at over $200 /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif once this is fixed. (of course I could have avoided this little mishap with some strategically placed inexpensive wire ties - /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif )
