Yes, the dining area looks like to space ship from the show Lost In Space. There is alien crap all over the place, green aliens in front of the car wash, car lots, laundry mats, coffee shops etc. Duncan Dounuts has a 25 foot tall alien holding up their sign in Main Street. It is quiet humorous and that kind of thing is year round. But this 75 anniversary will be nuts, most locals will avoid it like the plague but I talked my sister into going down town to humor me cause all my friends will disown me if I don’t take lots of pics and buy some alien crap to bring back to them.

Hunted in that area in the past and I will say the outlying landscape looks a bit 'alien' to me being from Michigan....lol

The main reason I’m going is my sister is doing a lot of family history research and we will be going to grave yards. She found a great aunt buried in Fort Sumner NM that is buried about 25 feet away from Billy the Kid. I thought was pretty cool. Roswell has a huge western history including Pat Garret, John Chism, Billy the Kid, also Robert H Goddard who was instrumental in pioneering liquid rocket fuel propulsion, we would have never made it to the moon with out him. etc. But all the alien crap is all most folks want to see.

It sounds like a fun trip. I used to enjoy visiting old graveyards and reading the headstones. Live was a lot more difficult 150 years ago. It isn't uncommon to see several siblings from 3 YO on up who died within a few weeks of each other, most likely from scarlet fever or some other disease which is now virtually nonexistent.

A lot of graves seen at many grave yards from 1918 & 1919 are deaths from the Spanish Flu, which killed millions globally. I found my 4X great grandfather’s grave. He was born before the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Pretty cool stuff for me. I’ve gotten off topic for this forum, sorry y’all.

My father was good friends with the Air Force Captain that initially leaked the story of the crash back in July of 1947. He was scolded and admonished by the Air Force in the press. He retired 8 months later at two full ranks higher. That’s unheard of in the Air Force. Hmmmmm, he took one for the team, he was told what to say and was rewarded for it. This is a fact. Misinformation and misdirection works, just look at our nation’s capitol. I have the original front pages from the Roswell Daily Record from July 8th and 9th 1947 with all the misdirection in print. I have them laminated cause newspaper doesn’t age well. Think what you want, yes something crashed on the W. W. Brazel ranch near Carona NM but it wasn’t from outer space. The material was taken to the Walker Air Force base in Roswell and never seen again. That base closed in the mid 60’s from what I can remember.

Anecdotal, but interesting. I used to work in a chemistry lab with a guy that lived in New Mexico most of his life (RIP). He told me had a friend who lived there, in Roswell, on a ranch as I recall, when the event happened. My friend said his friend told him he saw the truck hauling the wreck from the area, and the wrecked "vehicle" on the truck, had U.S.A. written on it. Now the story was told to me 50 plus years ago, so that's all the detail I remember.

Keep in mind the time frame. There is no telling what we confiscated from **** Germany after the war, plus the Cold War started and we started spying on the Russians. There was a lot of stuff going on at Walker Air Force Base. At that time and for several years Walker had the most square footage of tarmac in the country, possibly the world. My father was tail gunner in a B17 squadron and after the war was later stationed at the Walker base. My grandfather knew the rancher Mr. Brazel and he was sorry he ever reported anything. Folks all over his land, tearing up fences, cattle getting loose, coming to his house, press hounding him constantly. I don’t follow all the ufo stuff but this is what I know about my home town. I’m packing my bags today for tomorrow, if AA screws up my flights I will call the mothership and have the planet vaporized. No hard feelings, okay. LOL

It wasn't but about 10 years ago that I was in my back pasture and was suddenly frozen in place when a strange looking aircraft landed in front of me and then the door opened. Exiting the aircraft were two of the most beautiful women I have ever seen, heading right for me, entranced with their beauty but unable to move, both scared yet thrilled at such a sight, until they came besides me and said, "we have searched the universe for such as you to help us replenish our planet that has lost almost all of our mankind."

I think I was reaching a climax when my rooster crowed and woke me up. It took everything my wife could do to keep me from loading my shotgun and shooting that danged rooster.

Just got back from visiting my family in Roswell. Spent time in town going to the 75th anniversary UFO festival. It was a zoo down town. What a hoot. Wackos from all over we’re there, plus just folks having fun looking at all the alien crap. Parades, costume contests, pet costume contests. I met one lady that was there saying that some of her cows had been abducted and was wanting help to stop the bovine abductions. She was dead serious. They had seminars at the convention center with guest speaker UFOologists (didn’t know that was a word) for the HARD CORE UFO enthusiasts too. The town was packed and made a ton of money and everyone I saw had a ball just like me. And I didn’t get probed either, which was good.

Well most of what they were trying to do was later shut down, styme or restrict the amendment's scope. Representative Mike Rogers and Ohio Representative Mike Turner are alleged by some to be leading efforts to strike down the amendment's powers , and that is what happened.

According Representative Tim Burchett, Speaker of the House, Mike Johnson, and Mitch McConnell among the group that may "shut it down." also later proven out. The powers that be behind the scenes made sure no scif would be allowed at or near the hearings and blocked attempts for wider briefings of Representatives.

Maybe next year... or a couple more decades.
