If waxing tractor is lame...look what I did

I think its great that we can all share this thread. I say what ever makes you feel good, wax, no wax, wash, no wash. WaxMan you have a fine looking machine, Sid the Ford shines. Some tractors are tools and others toys but we love it just the same. I am some where in between I do like to keep mine looking good but if I don't have the time it has to be ready to work however it looks.

Waxman, you hit the nail on the head. During winter how are you going to get your tractor fix? I use some of my free time to do maintenance, cleaning, paint touch up etc....

I have a heated garage and during the cold season my therapy is going out to the garage and "restoring" my Ford for the next season. During the other 3 seasons of mowing, moving dirt and other things it is hard to keep it clean. I just wait for the downtime of winter to get her back into shape.

It is almost a hobby within a hobby to keep older equipment looking good.

Seeing how you guys rag on the "waxers" of the group....I figured I'd give you another target:p

Since I drive on a gravel road frequently, I get lots of stones thrown up by the tires. I noticed even on my old rusted tractor that stones would hit the underside of the fenders and fracture the paint.

So...on the new one I had a buddy undercoat the fenders. He used some spray-in bedliner. I also work in some slick mud/muck and it hardly sticks to the undercoating.

Okay...flame away.:D

Looks great, but those tires look like your tractor is lacking the proper attention given through seat time.:D:D:D:D:D

I cant believe someone would wax their tractor.

Or, buy new tires and paint the rims, touch up the rest of the tractor, buy new hoses and belts, and do a good general cleaning. That would be a waste of time to sand the rust off the front weights and paint them.

Heck, I bet some people even sand and repaint the rear blade after moving gravel so during the winter the snow slides off easier.

What are they thinking? lol If something is 23 years old it should look like it, right?

I recently added a Westendorf TA-55 FEL. I sure wouldn't waste time painting it. (I need to post some pics of it)

OK, honestly now, not counting bringing it home, has that tractor ever been out of the garage? Sure doesn't look like it.:)

15k for a tractor. You bet I'm gonna wax it, probably not the implements but the tractor for sure. My dad on the other hand waxes his lawn mower (he is retired of course). I wont go that far. lol.
