If waxing tractor is lame...look what I did

I'm glad I found this thread. As it happens, I bought the herculiner kit, to touch up the bed of my truck. There will be enough left over, and I was thinking up coating the operators platform for the tractor, and the back hoe. It is a non skid very durable coating, why not. I'll post some pics.

They sure do look pretty, but

I guess if you have the money and time, and maybe retired, it is the thing to do, but the rest of us just use the machines as is, and still paying the bank, and can not afford a can of paint to make it look pretty. I have often wondered about some of the tractors I have seen, the hours used, and what the tractor was used for. I am thinking gentleman's tractors, and farmers tractors, hobby tractors.

Interesting perspective. There is the other side though...It didn't cost me much money--it was left over material. I bartered with a friend to do it--he had the gun. Not retired, I work 2 jobs and enjoy the time I get on my tractor. It will be used often and often hard. It is also the only "new" vehicle of any type I have ever owned and just thought it would be a simple, inexpensive way to keep is as nice as possible for as long as possible.

I prolly mentioned this somewhere else, but if I've been wallering around in the muck or a slurry of wet clay etc, . .if that stuff dries, it goes to concrete, so its much easier for me to park over the lawn sprinkler a while, pull the sprinkler ahead a little for another ten minutes, . .then just the hose, (NOT necessarily the Power Washer) but just hose 'er down for a minute or so. OR, as of summer(?) 2009 in Southern Ontario, . . just park on the lawn and let the good Lord hose it down from above. This summer, thus far,..the Lord has kept my (Our) tractor "pretty-darned-clean"!!!!

But, with the very Greatest Respect, I have to declare: ENUFF-AWREDDY !!!! The ground is soggy, the roots are drowned, crops in jeapardy, . . tractor and truck and boat and most other items are "Quite Clean"!! THANK YOU very much, but could we PLEASE have a little sunshine withOUT more rain, ...PLEASE!!!!

But,...on the other hand, . . Thanks be to the good Lord above for whatever HE sees fit to Bless me with,..as I really don't mean to come across as a winer crying and complaining, .... but please hold the rain back till I get some work "out-o'-the-way", . . . Thank You !!

CHEERS, . . and Blessings all around !! (NO disrespect to anyone).

Hey, did I hear someone say "waxing" a tractor?

Boy did I get it from everyone for saying I wax my Rims, Yes I used to be a closet waxer, it got so bad once people knew I had to change my name to show I was not ashamed of what I have done. Now I wax in daylight with my head held high No more waxing at night under a tarp with a flashlight.

Before everyone sprays that stuff on their tractors, once that stuff goes on it's not coming off, what will it look like once it's on for 389 hrs. Hopefully not orange spots all over.
Mine still looks like this after 389 hrs of dirt and gravel work, with only 3 waxing under the fenders, takes about 3.5 minutes.
Don't forget WAX those rims too!!!
I have to admit what you have done does look good.

When I lived in the burbs, there was a family a few doors down that I called 'The car wash cult.' Mom, Dad, teenage son & daughter washed and waxed their four cars every weekend like clockwork. They were so efficient that it was like watching army-ants on the move.

But the strangest thing I saw them do was scrub the street in front of their house on their hands and knees. Their cars were in good shape, so I can't imagine them dripping oil. Now that's lame!
