Having issues attaching multiple pics. Here is what found online regarding what fuses control.

Went back through this post again and thanks to files attached was able to find right connector to separate. Disconnected it and back in business. Many have said it before but this site and its members truly are amazing!!

Well, it sure stumped me. Who would think that a sending unit stuck in the water neck could blow ignition fuses and make the tractor not start?

Finally put the sending unit in yesterday. It ran fine for three months with no problems but with colder weather coming I figured the time was right. I drained a gallon of coolant out so it wouldn't spill all over. A gallon was enough. The old sending unit came off easy and I put the new one in finger tight since the requirement was only 3.5 ft lbs. Anyway, coolant back in, fired (cranked) right up and off to the races. The 5520 is such a great tractor with an excellent parts supply system.

Extra thanks to Zebrafive and JD5210 who pointed me in the right direction and explained how things work on this.

Looking for a little help and advice before resorting to calling mechanic. I have a 2008 JD 5303. Seem to be having the same issue as described in this thread. Tried disconnecting the Coolant Temperature sensor and still blowing fuse. Engine turns over, but sounds as if is not getting fuel.

Attached is picture of my fuse panel with blown fuse taken out. It is a 20A fuse. Also attached is picture from JD site of what this fuse is supposed to be for. Note it states flashers. I still have working flashers and signals. Fuse blows as soon as key is switched on. Have tried several times after disconnecting sensors on left side of engine and Coolant Temperature sensor with no success.

Have a couple more fuses before having to go into town for more. Any suggestions appreciated.

That's a big difference in fuse panels over my 07 5303, assuming it's because of the 4WD:confused3:

Was your problem the cold start temperate sender that we've been talking about here?

How does it change the timing?

Also, a correction in my original post I wrote that the switch advances the timing when it actually retards it. Oops. :D

I think you caught this.

Seems to be. Disconnected and running fine. Haven't changed part yet.
