Maybe some financial decisions,e.g. investments, would be different if I knew then what I know now, but basically I wouldn't change much. Life is a journey, not a destination, and looking at it that way seems to help keep things in perspective for me.

That reminds me of the famousMark Twain line (That I can't entirely remember...getting old has it's liabilities)

Something to the effect of; "I left home at age 18. I was amazed at how smart my father got by the time I was 25", or something like that.

How about...

“When I was a boy of fourteen, my father was so ignorant I could hardly stand to have the old man around. But when I got to be twenty-one, I was astonished at how much he had learned in seven years.”

-Mark Twain

I am such a sap.. I love threads like this. Honestly.. I would not change a thing. There are some financial decisions I question some times, but we only live once and can't take it with us. I have an amazing wife and the greatest/smartest 4 y/o girl a guy can have. I really do need to get a tractor though....but that goes back to some of those financial decisions so the automatic wheelbarrow has to wait ;)

just kidding, i'm happy for you :)

i have regrets, but i'd rather share this one first:
right after high school, i think i was regretting not being more aggressive with the ladies, pissed at myself for being an introvert..
in college i met the perfect woman, married her, now we have 3 beautiful children..
may you too have regrets you don't regret! :)

I would of saved more.

Never thought as a young man that I'd make it past 33. Didn't get married until I was 38 or so, have a great and much better woman than myself, and now that I'm 41, looking and hoping to get to 100.

Time goes by so fast.

I found out the TRUE SECRET TO HAPPINESS IN LIFE after divorcing at a relatively young age of 28: NEVER MARRY A FAT WOMAN. Could've saved me a lot of money and time. :)

Therefore, I am happily married to a skinny beautiful redhead, have 2 wonderful kids, live on 38 beautiful acres, am in debt up to my ears for about 10 more years, and wouldn't have it any other way.

Most importantly my wife and children are healthy. I'm able to work. My parents are still young and healthy ( Dad just turned 60 ). I've got a GREAT paying job for where I live, just gone a lot. But when I'm home, I'm home.

No regrets, wouldn't be where I am now if I'd of done different.

Gotta be careful there... there are very few men that don't pack on the pounds after a couple decades of wedded bliss. When I met my wife I was 6' tall and 135 pounds. 29 years later and I'm 220 and bald.
