Tractor
Ford 600 1955-1958
Hello everybody, I'm Rocky. I have a Ford 600 I bought about 3 years ago. I have had intermittent ignition problems over the years. The tractor will run fine, but once warmed up will quit running. I have bought all new ignition parts except a distributor. It is a 6 volt system. I have power up to the coil, but no spark out of the coil (new coil). I'm looking for information on how the rebuild the portion of the distributor where the power comes in and goes to the points. It looks as though mine was juror rigged sometime ago. Thank you for your time.

Some ignition systems will have a resistor in series with the points on the 6 or 12 volt side. That resistor could be opening when hot.
