IH 4000/5000 Hay conditioner

Hi everyone, I am looking to get a second hay mower in case my haybine breaks down on me again this year. I have found an IH 4000 swather in quite good condition for sale which comes with a conditioner attachment. Can anyone attest to how well the conditioner attachment works? I will have a field of about 70% alfalfa to cut so it needs to be crimped. Secondly if anyone can provide pictures or description of how the conditioner actually attaches to the chassis and drive? The owner never hooked it up and I can't immediately tell how it attaches or where its gets its drive power to the sprocket. Any advice or input would be much appreciated!
