So last week I loaned by manure spreader to a neighbor. Bad idea!
Looks like the frame C channel was on its last leg so when the floor dropped the apron chain got broken in several places. The cross bars some were torn off or badly bent. In looking online I did find one place to sell replacement setup. $950.00. I only paid $500 5 years ago for it.
Anyone know of a place that would be reasonable $$ or maybe a fix for the chains.
Before I WELD THE FRAME UP I better look around for a new chain .

The chains is 67 detachable link chain, 67H would work as well, or if you want the strongest go with 67T rod chain. 67 and 67H are interchangeable. To redo the entire chain setup you would have to get some attachment links, and angle iron to make the slats. However depending on how messed up your chain is and how worn you might be able to patch it together with just a few links. To my knowledge no one makes a kit for these old spreaders.

Morning Thanks for the light at the end of the tunnel.
When you say "detachable" , are these links just slipped inside each other or clamped closed?

They slip inside each other. They also make a #67 XH "extra heavy". 25 years, or so ago, I made an apron chain for my old Coby spreader. Got chain and attachment links for the slats. I also make some from angle iron. I believe I got the rivets to attach them to the irons there too. Heated the rivet's with my acetylene torch, and hammered them out on the anvil.

They make a tool for disconnecting/connecting those links. I've bought several of them at auctions for $1 ea. If you have any older farming buddies, bet they have one hanging around somewhere, if you don't want to buya newone. Just keep an eye out for one at auctions. Most have 3 slots for different size chain. You don't use that often, but worth a buck, just to hang on the wall for when you do.

Just be sure to assemble the connections, like they are in your spreader, with connections headed thesame way/direction.

You can either download a catalog, or request them to mail you one

So after looking hard at the setup and getting them all lined up . As some were 7 links between cross bars . Some were broken off other end not.
\ Was like a puzzle to find out I was missing 6 links. Back to the field where we shovel off the manure as the tractor was driven along.
But we did find them.

My thought was rather then shovel it of by hand just keep driving to pull cross bars until the chain was free on the ground.
NOT.
We ended shoveling it off anyways Plus all the damage.
What caused the damage was the left side top of the C frame channel was held by some lite rust. . When the channel let go the floor fell and the apron chain was trapped.

"detachable link" is the type of the chain like "roller chain" or "pintle chain"

For the future searchers for the 67hASL and the 67hASR . I ordered 7 of the ASL and 1 of the ASR. The ASR go on the left and the ASL go on the Right. Looking from the back at the beaters. Hopefully I can return and reoder again.

So to end this story its all working again.
What I did was since the main frame on the sides were a C channel and the top of the channel rotted off I found some new C channel and I inserted it inside the old channel since the bottom and sides metals were good . Then since my new C channel wasn't the same wide as the original I welded some 3/16 x 4 as a slide for the apron chain to slide on. Then I bent some aluminum flashing at a 90 deg angle . Attached to wooden side and extended out past the new 3/16 metal apron slide . I then cut an oil tank and flattened somewhat . Dropped it in and bent the front edge down with a sledge hammer so the cross bars would clear. Needed a couple slide ramps built as the apron chain has some slack. Everything has to clear the axle cross frame.
Anyways its good to go .
