Tiller IH Tiller

I just got back from a Millerton NY farm auction where I picked up a 48" International Harvester 3 pt tiller. Does anyone have any experience with IH tillers and maybe know who made them for IH? It is a model number 15 U-1111. Nice piece of equipment at a great price. I'm now hooked on auctions!

Sorry I can't help you with IH Tiller info, but I'm curious as to how you learned of this farm auction - or any farm auction for that matter. I live in NW CT and have never seen a farm auction listed in a paper, many "estate" auctions that might have a "tractor with attachments" listed, but never farm equipment. What am I doing wrong?

This particular place has a livestock auction once a week with equipment auctions thrown in every now and then. You can get on their mailing list. The address is below.

This tiller was for a Cub 154 or 185 Lo-Boy which had a PTO that turned counter clockwise at engine rpm (looking from the back of the tractor). The PTO shaft should have an odd spline so it will not hook up to standard 540 RPM 6 spline PTO, which turns clockwise looking from the rear of the tractor. I believe it was made by Carmeco in Claremont OK.
