I\'ll go first. . . . . .

Listing things to tell new owners to be aware of.
1. Don't put the gas cap on TOO tight, or it is next to impossible to get off without a strap wrench or something.
2.

2 . If you have an 8' rops and a 7' garage door be sure you fold it !
3 . If you have a block heater , Be sure that you secure the cord to someting . If not brush Hogs have a way of eating them /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Re: I\'ll go first. . . . . .

4. Be sure to get used to that FEL "thingy" that sticks WAY out in the front of the tractor. If you're not careful, you can hit the trim on the side of the garage door when you're backing out. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif If this does happen, just make sure that when you put it back in, later in the day, to make a matching mark on the other side of the door /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif.

5. Don't figure that you can brush hog over a hose that is lying on the ground because you're sure that the brush hog is up several inches and won't catch it.

My trim on the garage got it with the FEL when I was turning around /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif.

I've got more - just decided to list the most recent one /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif...

6. don't leave the plastic flashlight under the tractor after doing maintenance. When you crush it pulling out the next day you'll scare the heck out of yourself and make a nice mess with the batteries. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif And as always, don't ask me how I know this.

Re: I\'ll go first. . . . . .

Greg,
On my BX2200, if I completely curl the bucket, then lift it to almost waist high, I can see the front tips of the FEL Bucket from the seat.

If I don't, like when I was mowing last week, I found out you can punch a nice little "L" in the shed siding with the outside edges. I found out you can even do it TWICE in one day on the same side of the shed.......:( /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Now, I curl it in tight with buildings or stuff........

Re: I\'ll go first. . . . . .

When you're mowing with a MMM and watching it closely, remember that you still have 3PT lift arms still lurking out back, just waiting to punch holes in the barn siding.
Remember to put the stands down for the loader if you are trying to remove it.

Remember to put the stands down for the loader if you are trying to remove it.

Remember that the hydraulic lines for the loader go under the crossbar that runs across the loader at the top rear.

Re: I\'ll go first. . . . . .

When I first got my B7500 and KK brush hog I read on here how to drill new, lower holes and have the lower arm pins pointed in for easier attaching and to gain some extra lift...

So, don't lift your implements too high without watching the toplink if the ROPS is folded down. It's not as adjustable when bent. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Remember where the letter box is when backing.
Boxblade 1 - Letterbox nil

Re: I\'ll go first. . . . . .

When you set the parking brake on a slight incline, get off and turn off the tractor, remember to put the HST back in slow or fast BEFORE taking the parking brake off. Learned this one the hard way too, FEL into my barn.

Re: I\'ll go first. . . . . .

Remember to shut the cruise control off before you get to the 8' tall pile of brush - I can attest to the fact that the tractor will try to climb the pile... not good. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Re: I\'ll go first. . . . . .

If you are backing up the brush hog into a wooded area don't let the crazy wheel go between two tree trunks and then pull forward.

If you are brush hogging into tall grass with tree stumps about a foot and a half high. Don't get a front tire along side the stump and turn the tire into the stump if you have power steering. This destroyed my tie rod on the B7500.

If you are brush hogging, just pull the pin and remove the draw bar, before you lose it and then find it again with the hog's blade.

When you put the mmm back on make sure the PTO shaft goes "click" or give it a good pull to be sure it will not come off

Re: I\'ll go first. . . . . .

You can roll over a tractor using a post hole digger if you get tangled in some wire!!!! In my case I was able to shut her down before it did.....but some good pucker factor. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Re: I\'ll go first. . . . . .

If the ROPS doesn't fit under the garage door going in, it sure as heck won't fit under going out.

Don't forget to put one of the drain plugs back after draining your transmission fluid and then wonder why the shop floor is getting slick while refilling. Worked fine till it got up to the other plugs level /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Re: I\'ll go first. . . . . .

Don't assume that you can go anywhere you want, I have had my BX2200 stuck three times now, so much that the tow truck driver knows where I am if he hears "Kubota" from his dispatch.
Don't bother with an extra set of turf tires, the bar tires work just fine for turf (2wd only).
Your wife is going to become very crampy about your tractor when she hears about it, only someday to admit that "this thing is pretty handy".
Steering wheel knobs are cool.
Get a Mr. Funnell to keep bad bad things out of your diesel fuel.
Take off your FEL to mow. (10 minutes vs. the time it takes to fix your garage and barn)
Get an extra set of blades and sharpen often during mowing season.
Ponder the mulcher kit, grass clipping are no fun at all.
Get a box blade, and a toothbar. I think my Woods box is nicer than the Kubota box by far.
Watch your fingers!
Don't take off your loader or implements on slopes, makes it a living hell to get back on.
Resist the urge to have the rims chromed.
Get a stash of extra pins, your're gonna need them.
Don't back into a tree going full speed with the grader box(slow gear thankfully) unless you would like to purchase and install new lift bars ($180 for the pair)
If you get a box, the adjustment for it's angle is pretty sensitive, you can go from level scraping to digging in, in about three turns of the upper arm.
Install a hitch ball on the tractor (rear) and install couplers on all your attachments like the roller, dethatcher, etc. The hole and pin deal is for the birds.
Pull out the rubber drink cup holder , you can then place a 1 liter AquaFina bottle securely in the hole.
If the tractor is straining when you take off, you have the parking brake on.
